Chemical Peel & Laser Hair Removal????

Will Chemical Peel(s) wanish/remove scars from the skin? 1. Will Chemical Peel remove scars from the skin? (My scars is only on the surface of the skin, they're not deep). 2. Does people get chemical peels other places of the body, other than just the face? 3. I have medium brown/dark skin, I am worried that the doctor will burn my skin leave marks or that they are not used to treating dark skin. 4. About how much does this cost and who/what company is to be recommended? Please tell me about your experience and if your skin got burned or so? 5. What do I wanna look for when I'm gonna do my "homework" and look for a GOOD "doctor" or what those people are called? 6. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME LASER HAIR REMOVAL, I ASSUME THAT THE SKIN MAY GET A BIT THINNER AFTER REMOVING SKIN WITH A LASER. SHOULD I REMOVE THE HAIR FIRST THEN "SMOOTH" OUT WITH A CHEMICAL PEEL AFTERWARDS? (OF COURSE WITH A LITTLE TIME FRAME IN BETWEEN,SO IT WON'T DAMAGE THE SKIN). THANK YOU:)

  1. So many questions in one, here you may find an answer to most of them http://www.aestheticandplastic.com/procedures/3.html About the color of your skin, both of those procedures may be not indicated for dark skin, but you need to ask your plastic surgeon about your case. All the best!
  2. 1. Just getting one chemical peel, no. You have to get several for this to work. I personally do a 25% TCA chemical peel on myself every 4-6 weeks (you have to wait at least 4 weeks after getting a TCA). It definitely does improve your skin, but you have to get several, depending on your skin. One will probably not do the job. 2. Yes, they can! Just about anywhere you can get one...Shoulders, chest, back...Its not uncommon for people to get this done. 3. The best candidates for getting chemical peels are skin types 1, 2, and 3. Although skin types 4 or 5 are not the best candidates, they can still get glycolic or salicylic peels. (if you are unsure what skin type you are, Refer to this website- http://www.goldnbrown.co.uk/type.html) 4. It definitely feels like your face is burning! Some patients even scream when getting this procedure done! However, I doubt if you go to a good med spa that anything bad will occur. They are generally safe procedures, just DO NOT peel or pick at your face after you get one!! That WILL mess your face up, pre-mature peeling can scar your face! The cost depends on where you live and how deep of a peel you decide to get done. Sometimes a very light, superficial peel can cost you $50 (but thats for only one treatment) Then, it just goes up from there! 5. Get referrals! Make sure they are either a nurse or a doctor, although doctors do not usually do chemical peels. Some states will let just anyone do this on someone, even if they do not have the right qualifications so be careful. Also, make sure they have been to some sort of training and know how to do this! 6. Okay, when you get laser hair removal heres what you have to do. Shave the area you plan on getting lasered(neck, eyebrows, armpits, legs, arms, bikini line..etc). You go in, and they laser that spot! You do not need to get any chemical peels on that area where you plan on getting laser hair removal. Also, if you get your eyebrows, or say you have hair on the back of your neck you want to get removed. Do not expect the person doing it to know how much you want lasered..Make sure you are precise in what you want lasered! You must also get these done in sessions--usually 3-6 sessions. Also, do not pluck where you plan on getting this done (for example, your eyebrows)--you MUST shave!! If you have anymore questions just ask!
