Has anyone tried using TCA acid peels for removing tattoos?
Im currently researching removal methods, and have found a couple of listings on e-bay selling at-home kits of varying strength TCA's, the same as used by cosmetic surgeons for facial rejuvenation peels, to remove tattoos with a number of treatments. I've traced the US salon using the products, and they seem legit: street address, phone # etc. Just wondering if anyone has taken the plunge and tried this method??

- I'm pretty sure the only way to remove a tattoo is laser's
- see a professional seriously, you dont know the chemical composition of some these product lines you may do more damage then good, your skin is nothign to play with its the first thing people see when they look at you some TCA will burn the skin, you dont know your body/skin/chemical makeup will react to this treatment, call a professional see if they have free consultations some do, but dont risk this, its kind of you taking things into your hands, your not a physician so do what will keep your skin looking healthy and clean
- TCA is a VERY strong acid. The facial peels should only be done by a Dr. You can cause hypo or hyper pigmentation or 3rd degree burns. I have never heard of TCA being used to remove tattoos, and I used to work for a Dermatologist, we did lot's of TCA peels. I think laser is probably your best bet.
- I don't suggest you attempt this. Why don't you just go to see a dermatologist. Tatoos can be removed by non-ablative laser and it is not all that expensive either. I know plenty of legitimate sites that sell TCA, but I wouldn't recommend trying to remove a tatoo with TCA. HTH : )
