- The home peels are at such low concentration, that apart from marketing bogus, it will not be any big difference if you take glycolic, lactic or whatever. They all give you a light chemical exfoliation that results in a slightly more glowing skin. TCA (Trichloracetic) peels are available ONLY to doctors. I am a cosmiatrist and I don´t use these peels myself (unless it´s neutralized in a clay mask). I doubt you will have access to the real acids, unless you are a cosmiatrist yourself, and then why are you asking this? But if you have, please abstain. Why not trust a cosmiatrist with something so delicate and potentially harmful and dangerous! You may end up with a burn! Is it becasue it´s expensive? Ever think why it´s expensive? Apart from the responsability I take every time I perform a peel, I did a very expensive and 3 month long training specifically in acids. Each is better for a different skin condition, some can be combined for a better effect, and each is potentially dangerous. Please don´t skimp on the important things like your skin: you can´t exchange a damaged one.
- Why would anyone want to induce a chemical burn on their FACE? You absorb this stuff through your skin - like a medicated skin patch... These chemicals affect all of your organs after being dermally absorbed. Your skin is an organ, would would you induce a chemical burn on your liver?
