- Yes, and they work wonderfully. I started with beta-hydroxy acid peels at 10% and worked my way up to 30%. They are less expensive when bought in packages. Consider following the treatment with a microdermabrasion package, as well. DO NOT go to a place that does not have a supervising physician, preferably a dermatologist, physically at that location. If your scars are deep, you are better off getting a laser peel. The costs of these vary greatly, so literally check every dermatologist in town for the best deal. Many offices will try to get you to set up an appointment and say you have to be seen by the doctor for an estimate. Avoid those. If they cannot give you an estimate based on the depth of the laser peel (10-15 microns, 15-30, microns, all the way up to 80) you are better off going elsewhere.
