are orange peels poisonous to rabbits?

I would like to give my rabbits; (2 females and 1 male) orange peels to eat because I eat oranges a lot. are they bad for rabbits?

Public Comments

  1. Orange peels are not harmful to rabbits unless they get lodged in their esophagus so make sure you slice the peel into square centimeter pieces but the safest thing to do would be to feed it generic rabbit food.
  2. No, rabbits cannot eat orange peels. Any citrus peels contain dangerous toxins and cannot be fed to rabbits. Think about what rabbits would be eating in their natural environment, would they be eating orange peels? What ever that last person said is completely incorrect, and i doubt they are a veterinarian like they have stated. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Rabbits-703/2008/6/food-rabbits-eat.htm above is a website showing all the things rabbits cannot eat, Hope this helps.
