Will Chemical Peels work for my problem??
I am only 26 years old but I have some fines lines on my forehead and around my eyes. I also have some frown lines. I drink very little water. Like there are days I will go without drinking any water whatsoever. I also take energy pills, which are known to dehydrate you and your skin. Yesterday , I took a look at my skin at it look tired and stressed and the texture wasnt what it should be at my age. I dont drink or smoke. Could a chemical peel done my a dermatologist help with my lines and texture?

- Yes, this could most definitely help. There are different types of chemical peels. But I would first suggest you start to use both alpha hydroxy acid creams and Retin A cream as well as sunblock regularly. These will exfoliate, renew and thicken the skin, improving poor skin texture, fine lines, increase hydration and improve skin elasticity. I'd also recommend using a pure vitamin c serum, as this will preven further damage and give you skin a healthy glow. Then you may want to start by having regular weekly glycolic acid peels. These can be done in a lunch hour, require no downtime and will help to refine the skin, even complexion, reduce fines lines and acne scars, and improve skin elasticity with repeated treatments. After you have had weekly sessions for 6-12 weeks, you can then just have 1 or 2 peels per month. At this point, you may not feel you need to have a more invasive chemical peel. But if you do, then I would recommend consulting with a highly reputable dermatologist about a TCA peel. This is a medium depth peel and does require about 7-10 days downtime. The solution is applied to the face and you should feel a burning sensation which will only last a few minutes. Once the solution frosts over, this means the acid has done it's job and a neutraliser is then applied and vaseline applied to the skin. The peel can remove melasma, reduce open pores and fine lines, improve skin elasticity and skin texture and give a more youthful, clear and glowing appearance to the skin. Good luck : )
