The paint on my house peels off.?
The paint on the south side of my house,(the side that is in the sun and high temps all day,) peels off after being painted a few months. What can I do to stop the peeling?

- Scrape off the peeling paint. Prime then paint. Using Exterior paints.
- You may need to power-wash and/or sandblast that side of the house to get off all the loose paint. If any loose paint is left on it will probably happen again. Next step is to apply a coat of exterior primer and repaint with an even coat of exterior paint. If you never did this kind of thing before you may want to ask questions at a hardware store, or have a painting contractor look at it. Half measures or patch up jobs will probably not work well in this case. The same thing might happen again. It might be better to redo the whole side.
- Moisture can cause peeling paint. Make sure the crawlspace has plastic covering the dirt. Too much moisture is being introduced into your house via the crawlspace. The moisture is leaving the house through the South wall. If you don't have a crawlspace, moisture can come through concrete if there was no plastic put down prior to the pour. Also check to make sure all baths and kitchen have venting to the outside. I am assuming you prepped the wood properly and used the proper paint.
