Are Orange Peels Useful?

I know that orange peels are used in a lot of cooking but is there any other use for them e.g. you put cucumber slices on your eyes to brighten them! can i have some examples if there are any. Or even anything like this doesn't have to be orange peels. Just something as handy!

  6. Mix orange peel with noxema face wash use it on your face or even a problem area of your body its exfoliates dead skin cells and creates a nice smell which in turn energizes you. If you have a coffee grinder that works best ut be sure not to make it a pulpy mess. just a fine enough grain. You can use the seeds too.

  12. When I was a kid we used to put orange peels on the windowsills of our cabin at summer camp because it's supposed to be an effective insect repellent. Also, you can rub the peels on your skin for that purpose. Also, supposedly if you make a puree of orange peels and water (like, in the blender), you can pour it on anthills and put it along the path ants use to come into your house to keep them away. The oils in the orange peel are also used in engine cleaners, in waterless hand cleansers in heavy machinery repair shops, and in resins and paint used for painting ships.
  13. Remove pith and dry (dehydrate) and you can use them as potpourri w/ cloves and cinnamon and dried apple & lemon skins or add them to your favorite tea, coffee, chocolate or wine drinks. I sometimes just add them to a pot of water with some dried spices and leave it on my wood stove or gas cookstove on simmer ~ great after a fish or curry fest! You can half your oranges and scoop out the pulp (for use in your juicer) and stuff the "bowl" with nut butters, seeds and nuts for your Solstice birdie gifts. I've heard about homemade cleaning uses, but no direct experience.
  14. You can put them into rubbing alcohol and make it smell better. Just peel off and drop them in and leave them there.
  15. Yes,so i've heard.

Orange peels are useful. -Use the inner white part of an orange peel to rub teeth for a lovely white shine. -Old Fashioned Tooth Powder: 2 Tbsp dried lemon or orange rind 1/4 cup baking soda 2 Tsp salt Place rinds in food processor, grind until peel becomes a fine powder.
