- This is gonna be a long one... Sorry in advance. FYI: I have fair combination/oily, occasionally sensitive skin, and super duper thick, long, occasionally frizzy red hair. foundation: Almay Clear Complexion liquid foundation, because the coverage is wonderfully buildable while still looking natural and it has ingredients that help minimize blemishes. concealer: L'Oreal True Match, because it's the only one I've found that matches my skintone the way a concealer should. powder: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Face Powder - SPF 16 foundation primer: Eeeeeeh, nothing I've found at drugstores has been worthwhile. All of it breaks me out. You're better off saving for a good primer, because it's probably one of the more important things you'll put on your face. lip gloss: Eh, I don't really use lipgloss from drugstores.. It's usually too thick and sticky, or it wears right off. I love love love Burt's Bees lip balms, though. Especially the tinted ones. lipstick: NYC has some okay colors. not a big fan of drugstore lipsticks either. lip liner: I don't use lipliner mascara: Cover Girl Lash Blast! eye liner: L'Oreal HiP gel liner eye shadow: L'Oreal HiP shadow duos contour: Never used a drugstore contour. By the time I figured out enough about makeup to know how to use a contour and a highlight, I had already moved on to better products. But if I found a decent one at a drugstore, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot. I think Milani has some good ones. highlight: Never used a drugstore highlight. See above. blush: Milani (Not drug store, but Target, which is pretty much the same thing) eye circle deminisher/eye cream: Olay Regenerist moisturizer: Neutrogena Daily Defense Moisturizer with SPF 45 cleanser: Johnson & Johnson Purpose face wash. toner: Olay Refreshing toner exfoliater: St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Oily/ Acne Prone Skin face mask: Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask shampoo: Aussie Moist shampoo conditioner: Aussie Moist conditioner deep hair mask: Aussie 3 minute miracle hair spray: Sunsilk Hold Me Forever hair spray hair mousse: I don't use mousse, but I think the ancient can in my bathroom is from Charles Worthington. leave in conditioner: Aussie 3 minute miracle face makeup remover: See cleanser eye makeup remover: Almay has some wonderfully moisturizing eye makeup remover pads. Whew. As far as drugstore brands go, try to stay away from Wet & Wild. 90% of the things I've bought from Wet & Wild end up going straight into the garbage can because they have cruddy color payoff, next to no staying power, and will break me out so fast my head spins. Other drugstore brands (Milani, NYC, Prestige, Jesse's Girl, etc) are hit or miss. I usually check reviews on www.makeupalley.com before I try anything new, especially from a drugstore. As far as major brands go (L'Oreal, Maybelline, Revlon, Cover Girl) I wouldn't trust Revlon or Cover Girl foundations if my life depended on it. Maybelline is pretty sketchy too. L'Oreal and Lancome are said to be owned by the same company, so when I have to go for drugstore cosmetics, I usually look through the L'Oreal stuff first. Hope this helps!
