Can chemical peels help acne scaring?

I am 16 years old and have had sever acne since i was 12 years old. Finally with the help of a dermatologist my skin has finally cleared for good. But i now i notice many acne scars (they are really scars not just the after pimple mark) i have. I was wondering if chemical peels could help my scaring?

1. Yes, I believe they do. My friend is an aesthetician and she talks about doing chemical peels for things like that. It actually removes layers of skin.

3. Chemical peels don't do much for ice pick type scars ( a few skin layers deep) or scars even one layer deep. You'd have better results if your scaring isn't topical with dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. The dermatologist would know which way to go here. Cystic acne generally leaves those deeper scars & peels do nothing but leave a nice glow.
4. i Heard that chemical peels are not good for anyone that has darker skin tone b/c it lightens ur skin . since ur so young and ur scars will lessen or go away completely so try moderma scar treatment always use sunscreen everyday b/c sun damage will make it worse you can try a mild peel like philosophy's oxygen peel or micro-delivery peel they work really well u will see results the first time and will increase skin cell turn over that will quicken ur scars from heeling u try both peels for free by going to norsdstrom or sephora and ask for sample packets do not use the peels right after each other use a week apart
