I used to visit my dermatologist very often a couple of years ago because of my acne-prone skin. She would prescribe a tretinoin cream and I would have a chemical peel every two months. My skin looked so radiant and blemish-free back then. In the last two years, I haven't had the chance to go. I use oil-free and acne-prevent creams, but I have many breakouts and blemishes. My question is do I have to go back and start the peels again, or are all these peels finally going to damage my skin? Is it safe to have peels in the long-run? I forgot to mention that I'm an adult (24) and my acne is hormone-related (mild polyovarian cyst syndrome - my gynaecologists says it's very mild and since my period is normal, I shouldn't get any hormones). Thank you.
