1. It depends on what type of scaring that you have. If you have "pitted" scarring, then chemical peels will probably not help too much. Chemical peels will definitely help out with acne though. They will stimulate collagen production, and will help out extremely with exfoliation. Personally I would try laser treatments if you have tried everything else, and nothing else has worked. If you have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), (color left after an acne lesion was present....can be red marks, or brown marks) chemical peels are an excellent treatment. More than one treatment will typically be necessary, depending on how much PIH you have. It's also VERY important to weare a broad spectrum sun protectant every day! Your cells have memory, therefore, if you spend money on treatments such as chemical peels, or laser, you will just be wasting your money, because eventually the sun will bring out the color again. Go to a professional, they will probably recommend peels that have salycylic acid, glycolic acid, or TCA...or a combination of all. Good luck!
