Why do women sometimes smell of orange peel?

I've never had anyone know what i'm talking about here, but every woman ive known for long enough has at some point smelled of oranges or orange peel. The smell is kinda like what you'd get if you left a bunch of orange peels in a bag for a few days. It's not perfume. It's a distinct smell which is always the same no matter who I smell it from, and it's in their breath and sweat and on the surface of the skin when it's present. I only smell it for a few hours at a time, about once a month or so which led me to believe it's some sort of pheromone linked to the menstrual cycle, perhaps? I've smelled it on women at various times for as long as I can remember and i've never ever found an answer for what it is. If anyone knows anything about this, then please tell me, otherwise I can only conclude that I can smell a pheromone that noone else can.....? btw I know for a fact it isn't perfume or any other sort of artificial fragrance. It's also not linked to having eaten oranges. To clarify, it's certainly not a bad thing, I'm not complaining in any way. It's not a good thing either, it's just a thing that's there which I have no explanation for. Sometimes i'll walk into a room that a woman has been in for a while and this smell will totally overpower me and no-one else will be able to smell anything. It's a thick, round, fruity, full-bodied smell. Not unlike musk, actually.

  1. Are you saying it in a good sense or a bad sense, i mean is it a compliment for women? Yeah maybe they are caused by the interplay of hormones at certain points in the cycle..and maybe u've got the receptor for such a smell, which probably very few males have...
  2. Maybe you have synesthesia - it's a phenomenon by which people's senses are linked. Some people taste certain things when they hear a sound, or some people see colors when they hear words, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia Other than that, I don't know. You're special!
