whenever i try to spread my foundation, my skin peels and little crumply flakes come off, why?
it's not because my skin isn't moisturized, because it is! could it be because i wear my benzaclin rx gel underneath it, and that layer is what is peeling off when i rub my foundation sponge over my skin? it's the strangest, most annoying thing! i can't wear foundation because of all the peeling...and my skin is very moisturized, as are the pieces that come off my face! what should i do? what do you think it is?

- Yes it is because of your medication. Try using less of the medication and using a gentle exfoliating scrub every other night. If you are not actually using a moisturizer, it is very important that you start in order to solve this problem. Also try to dab foundation on, it might give you good coverage without scraping flakes, give it a try.
- the benzaclin rx gel is probably the reason. but another option is that your foundation may be old or not as good as you may think it is. i suggest you stop using the gel, and if that doesn't work, buy better foundation
- I know what you mean, I use a topical acne gel (Duac) and I get that annoying peeling. This is what I do: when I wash my face in the morning, I use a gentle exfoliating sponge to get my skin smooth as possible before I apply my rx med to my skin. Then I wait about 10 min for it to absorb, then apply moisturizer. I have to wait for that to sink in, then I apply foundation. Also, I now use mineral foundation, which seems to go on better than liquids. Hope that helps!
- I am positive that it is your medication because I'm currently on skin medication as well & I had that exact same problem. Before medication, I was using Shiseido's Hydroliquid Powder, but now I'm using Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer ($45, but there are other less expensive brands). It helps moisturize my face & provides cover up without the flaking :)
- put on the benzaclin rx gel first then moisturize your face and try that if it doesn't work then try a new moisturizer, maybe a heavier one. answer my question!!!! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080623192432AAsbiPa&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHzJb5kE.45RnBHTvRGGFpBlZML.amisPRUsQ--&paid=asked&msgr_status=
- could be severly things... ....could be old foundation try going with a different brand, start with a new bottle, or maybe try mineral foundation powder and not liquid. Liquid tends to dry out and ware on your face in a harsh way regardless even if its top brand and very high quality. It might be your skin too though different people have differnet skin you skin may be dry try mositurizing immediatly before tampering with your foundation hope that helps ya.... :)
- its because you wear that thingy gel under it but i have a solution. what my mum does is she puts the foundation on first than she puts this powder on which sets the foundation. sorry, i forgot what the powder is called!
