Why do my arms get super dark from tanning and then the brown layer peels off?

I dont use bronzers. I use tingle, accelerator etc. But when I tan i get a great color and then i if i rub my skin a day or two later if bunches up and im white again under it when it comes off.

  1. my suggestion is when you tan try not to tan for too long in the begining. start out with 30min each side if your doing a natural tan, if your using a tanning bed then try 5-7 min. And after you tan use alot of lotion that moisturizes your skin that will prevent it from gettimg dry and peeling. also take cool showers. if too hot can cause your skin to get dry/peel
  2. It's because the top layer of your skin tans, then when it peels the new paler layer comes out.
  3. Your skin is always falling off. You notice more when you tan because the outer most layer is darker than the new skin. If you really want to obtain a "golden tan" you have to gradually work on it. Trust me, wear a low SPF sunscreen and you will still tan. Don't lay out for too long, if you skin is burning, you should be done for the day. Immediately apply aloe gel and moisturize! Also drink water, it keeps your skin supple.
