What is a good daily cream/treatment for dark circles under the eyes?
I have accepted that the only way to rid myself of my racoon eyes is to have surgery but I’d prefer not to. Dark circles under the eyes runs in my family and no amount of constant hydrating and sleep will get rid of them. With that said, I’d like to know if anyone out there uses any good eye creams/treatments for dark circles. All I want is something to HELP with minimizing the appearance of dark circles as well as moisturize the sensitive skin around my eyes. I currently use Dr LeWinn's Private Formula Firming Eye Cream which has very slight illuminating properties. Please note that I am 22 years old and I’m not afraid to spend a bit of money. Thanks for all your help! Thanks for all your help guys I really do appreciate it! I suppose I should have mentioned as well that I have fair skin. I mean VERY fair. So you can only imagine the problem with concealer that I have. Too little, and you can still see dark colour, too much and... well, you know. Still use it but it’s kind of a balancing act. As for nutrition, and overall well-being, I’ve got that down pat (ie. I’m healthy and clear-skinned). There ARE surgical procedures that I have discussed with my physician such as laser and grafting procedures and we’ve both agreed they aren’t for me as I am still so young and I really don’t want to take any medication or use bleaching creams. The opaqueness of the circles varies from day to day so I’m really only looking for something I can use as both a “remedy” and a daily moisturizer. Again, thanks for all your great answers!

- No joke, hemorrhoid cream, preparation H. It is proven to work.
- Same exact thing with me. As far as creams go, MAC has a nice illuminating one -- and I use a Physician's Formula concealer for over the gross purple.
- Here's some serious help - Remedies For Dark Circles * An instant dark circles remedy is to use the correct concealer. The shade should be lighter than your foundation. If circles are very dark, choose 2 shades lighter. Great choices can be Revlon New Complexion Concealer, Estee Lauder Smoothing Skin Concealer, Cover Girl Smoothers Concealer, or Neutrogena Smoothing Skin Stick. * Apply a good Vitamin K cream. Vita-K Solution gel or Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue help strengthen capillary walls around the dark circles to make them less visible. * One should go for laser treatment only if the case is chronic. Lasers can increase production of collagen thereby thickening skin to make dark circles less visible. * Home remedies for dark circles can include the following: 1. Drink plenty of water to combat dehydration. 2. Wear at least SPF 30 sunscreen to prevent more sun damage. 3. Get enough sleep. 4. Leave cold teabags, cucumber or potato slices, or washcloths with ice cubes on eyes for 15 minutes regularly. 5. Take iron supplements if anemic, but consult your doctor first. 6. Identify the allergens and avoid them. Whether it be pollen, food, whatever, avoidance is the best solution to this. And avoid rubbing your eyes. * Hylexin is the first dark circles eye cream developed for serious dark circles. Featured in several magazines such as Marie Claire, FashionWeekDaily, The Wall Street Journal , Star and Luck. * One of the greatest remedies for dark circles is Arbonne's NutriMinC® RE9 Repair. It’s a corrective puffiness and dark circles eye cream that does additional benefits – firming, moisturizing and repairing the delicate tissue around the eye.
- No joke um.. sleeep
- I HIGHLY recommend "Teamine". It runs about $55 a jar and will last for a good long time given you only dab it under your eyes and on your eyebrow bone. In addition to the circles, It helps with puffiness and fine lines. Takes about 3 weeks to notice a difference, but you'll notice a difference. Always remember that certain conditions of our body did not take a month to get there, so the help for it may take some time. If you can, find a dermatology/cosmetic center that sells it...the company sends them samples and if you get 3 or 4 samples -which will last you well over 3 weeks. (I suggest squeezing a little sample packet into like a small tupperware container -to keep the air out!) I've used mine for a month and have seen a change! Take a picture before you start the samples and then one when you are out...you'll see if the money will be worth it. I do believe the next best thing is having a filler injected, like Juvaderm, or Restylane to increase the space between the surface of your skin and those pesky little blood vessels? Teamine seems to work better for those with lighter skin.
- Ive tried almost everything on the market- from $8.00 a tube creams to Hylexin which costs about $100 a tube. Mine are hereditary and I've had them since I was a child. Some of the creams will give you the "appearance" that it has lightened What I find works best is drinking lots of water, getting good sleep, if your eyes are puffy ice them (there are masks) or a little Preparation H. When putting on makeup under the eye whether foundation or eyeliner be careful to not damage the skin under your eyes by being rough. Pat lightly. There's a few professional treatments that you can go to a dermatologist for but I haven't heard of any cures.
- sweetie you are not thinking strait here. first off the problem is vascular. no surgery of any kind can have an effect on dark circles. However the europeans made some effort to discover EXACTLY what dark circles are (1) and what do do for them(2) The quality of information you have gotten -so far is not good. This is indicated by your beleif that the only way is surgery. This is not only not the only way- it is wrong. Doing surgery for dark circles is wrong. The tiny capilaries around your eyes can not be removed. The condition of those capillaries is something you can easily modify. It starts with what you eat and drink . Like any vascular condition it is effected by things like nutrition, hormanal status and vaso-dilation . Here is a list of things you need to do to determine what to do. 1. determine if your family genetics shows an inability to digest milk. If you are genetically unable to digest milk and you are doing it anyway -then there is a certain condition you are likely to have. That is intestinal inflamation . If you are drinking and eating milk products then the inflamation will prevent your intestines from absorbing vitimin K from your food. The vitimin K deficiency is a big factor in dark circles under the eyes and other vascular problems . Families that continue to drink and eat milk products even though they are all genetically unable to digest it - will all of them- have health problems from vitimin K deficiency. So you'll see whole families with GI problems( diverticulosis, chronic diarrhea,IBS,ect) osteoporosis ( drinks 6+ cups coffee each day, lots of red meat, cant drink milk does it anyway),dark circles, broken veins/ bruises mysteriously appear, easily bruised. So that is one thing Vitimin K. Some creams are transdermic and you put the vitimin K directly under /around your eyes. they do work on eyes and some people have purple blotches around their ankles and they use it for that condition too. Coffee aggravates the inflamation if you drink it blazing hot ,oily, burnt. Be kind to your GI tract and don't drink scalding hot beverages. The inflamatory, hormonal cascade caused by the pain and burning will definitely effect your vascular system. It's a full scale stressor. This includes the tiny vessels around the eyes. Coffee is also a vaso-dilator. So is diet coke ,iced tea hot tea and all other foods with caffeine in them. You might also look at the foods that trigger migrains because they are vasodilators and vaso constrictors also, eg chocolate . Blood pooling will give you dark circles. It just shows through the thin skin around the eyes. Osteoporisis will thin skin and make it quite transparent. you'll see this in elderly women as a sign that they are not getting protein and calcium. You need minerals and protein even when young to make good collagen . The best concealer is dermablend. Use a sable type paint Brush to apply it. Use the setting powder.Apply with a Q tip lightly, Just a bit. It has an added advantage of blocking sun from the eyes and by the time you reach 50 you will see a very good preservation. There will not be crows feet. You'll look 35 at 50. You need sun but not on your face or hands. Yves Rocher cosmetics have eye products with botanicals that constrict the tiny veins. One botanical in particular that works. Surf the web in the UK and France and look for ingredients that are botanical. They work . One of them is a certain kind of sunflower(?) extract I think. Jojoba oil is a great eye oil. You can wear it to bed . Good for nails and lips too. consider useing a pinkish white eyeliner to open the eyes Put a light dot on the outer corners. Not frosted . Glitter/ frost makes irritated bloodshot eyes-not what your looking for! To keep your vascular system in good shape read Adelle Davis, Let's Get well . All her advice about varicose veins ect. (vitimin C super important eat the whole orange incluseing the white pulpy part for the rutin. Rutin makes caplaries stretchy so they don't break) She talks about dark circles and other beauty problems such as nail ridges, dry skin, hair. Dont consume milk if you are genetically unable to digest it. The deficiency in Vitimin K will give you osteoporosis if you keep consuming it. So find out about that .
