What exactly is a chemical peel and why do people get them?
I have a lot of redness on the bridge of my nose and it goes down into my cheeks. I exfoliate regularly, so would a chemical peel be the next step to getting rid of it?

- A chemical peel basically removes the top layers of dead skin, giving you a refreshed look. But be carefuly, some are painful and you could develop a reaction, so test first.
- chemical peel is generally for fighting against acne. I am not sure if your redness is acne or what but chemical peel does exactly what it says. It peels off the top layers of your skin (of where ever chemical peel is done) and it also sheds off any dead skin cells that might be on your skin because dead skin cells facilitate acne to occur. It does not hurt, it actually is quite soothing, may get redness post procedure for 24 hours but then redness will go down. You also cannot exfoliate your skin where chemical peel has been performed for anwhere between 1-5 days (depending on what the doctor says). Hope this helps
