Why does my skin peel when i get out of swim practice?
I just started on a new swim team at a new pool, and for some reason when i get out of the pool, i notice that the skin on my fingertips has begun to peel. I didn't do that at my old pool. Is it the chlorine levels or something? The same thing happened last year when i would polish the silverware at my job with this old cloth, but i thought the material of the cloth was causing it. Any explanations and/or solutions are welcome, thanx! 10pts

- Umm everyones fingers peel some just don't notice!
- yes, ur skin is peeling becasue of the chemicals
- Yes, it's chemical levels. Are any of your teammates experiencing the same thing? If so, talk to your coach about having the levels checked in the pool.
- Pools contain chemicals in order to maintain sanitation; this causes skin issues. Chlorine may be a part of this. In addition, water temperatures, and from time to time water depth, may cause fingers/toes to "shrink," which may be causing this.
- It sounds like the chlorine levels are too high. Have your coach ask your team members if others are experiencing the same problem and have the levels checked. Use gloves to polish silver since the chemical reaction is causing your skin to degrade.
- to much chlorine for your skin it gets over dry or you could be allergic to chlorine
