Is skin peeling on baby red eared slider normal?
Well basically there's a spot on my baby turtles's shell that looks like the skin is peeling off. I took a peek under it to see if it's some sort of shell rot or not and have not noticed anything. The shell looks normal underneath the white patch of skin. I was just wondering is this type of thing normal or should I get it treated even though it doesn't look like it's infected or anything.
Public Comments
- yup..it's normal. My nephews and nieces have it before.
- If it is on the shell then it is completly normal, on the skin it is probably a skin infection
- Your turtle is just growing. It's called molting. It is very normal. You will notice it more and more as your turtle gets bigger.
- Your baby is growing so that's good. Whatever you do don't pull it off as it will come off on its own.
- perfectly normal. its part of their growing up. eventually it will stop peelin. u might even see them trying to bit off the peeled skin
