- Honestly, you shouldn't rely so much on that growth hormone. It does speed up the growth of baby fish, and it can often cause pregnant fish to give birth faster. But your best bet is to wait and let the fish give birth on their own time. In the meantime, you can play the game without growth hormone. Breed fish that you can sell while you wait for your magic fish to be born. If you're playing the game at 2x speed, your fish should be born in about 15 minutes and will reach full maturity well within an hour.
