Dry skin on face, peeling?
Alright, I've been using Freeclear or something I bought at target for my acne. It's been clearing it up, but I just noticed I have skin that's literally peeling off my face. Now, if I wash my face tonight, use the steps of the acne treatment I have that's drying my skin up, then put face lotion on top of that. Will it clear/hydrate my skin? Please help.

- try dermotoligica. its wonderful.
- Well you should always moisturize your skin after cleansing and using toner, but the Freeclear might be too harsh for your skin...Also make sure you are only doing it twice a day. Just recently I washed my face 3 times in a matter of like 9 hours and the last time, it burned the crap out of my face.
- That's the problem with acne meds, they often dry out your skin. This is bad because when the skin gets too dry, it can cause it to produce MORE oil to compensate. I would use a good (non-oily) lotion. Aveeno is really really good for the skin and won't make you break out. Also, Oil of Olay has a lot of good products. Including a facial mask (clay) that will clean and get rid of dead skin without drying it out.
- try dermotoligica & write 2 me
- It will only clear it up if its a light oil something thats used for hydrating the skin look at various types of toners instead of a lotion. Lotion just tends to give the "Freeclear" more to clean out because most lotions are just sitting in your pores.
- id say stop using the stuff every day, try every other day. it prob says something to that effect on the bottle, like if irritation occurs, reduce frequency of use. obviously you dont want acne, but u dont want skin peeling off either. maybe try a diff product altogether, but id give your skin a break for a cpl of days b4 trying something else.
- I would suggest using an exfoliater (like the apricot scrub from st.ives) to remove all the dead skin, and then put lotion over that. You should probably stop using "freeclear" cream if it does make your skin sooo dry. Im sure you can find tons of other products with the same result without the side effect. Some good ones are oxy and clearasil. -Good Luck!
- try clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion on your dry patches, since its a little bit pricey, any lightweight oil free moisturizer will do, just make sure you dont apply it to areas where your face is oily, because this will make the acne worse, and dont add any acne lotion or medication to your dry patches for a while, since that is most likely the cause of the dry patches hope i helped! tori
- Maybe try using Freeclear less often and switch it up every once in awhile with something less harsh on your face. Ohhh and MOISTERIZE, MOISTERIZE, MOISTERIZE!
- I use a product from my doctor that does the same thing, and it's supposed to peel the dead skin that it creates to expose the new, fresh unaffected skin. Lately though with the weather change and the wind my face has been ultra dry and peeling and my lips, wow, I'm thinkin' they may just chap off my face! It's not just you, honest. I won't stop using my prescription though because it really does help me a lot, and I do use oil free lotion to help with the super dryness, but don't forget it is supposed to dry us out to remove the acne and it's scares. When it clears up and we see the new clear skin, be sure to moisturize then too.
- k this might sound gross, and i'm not sure how guys feel about face masks (lol) ..but.. this works wonders for me: mash up a piece of banana in a food processor... dump that into a small bowl and then add approx. a teaspoon or so of olive oil. mix it well... apply to face and leave on 15-30 minutes. rinse off gently with warm water. it's a little gross because it's very gooey and kinda looks like someone vomited on you lol but like i said.. works wonders.. at least for me.
- Is the face lotion you're using part of the acne treatment? Because if its not, they could be reacting to each other. meaning make sure that you are not using two different products that could react badly with each other because of the chemicals in both.
- Keep your skin hydrated and well moisturized .Drink lot of water and use a good quality moisturizer .Use cleansing gel instead of soap .Mix a little raw milk with a little honey and apply to the face .Wash it off after 15 minutes. For more natural solutions for dry skin ,refer http://healthbeautytips.net/dryskin.htm
