How early is too early to start wearing antiwrinkle eye cream?
I'm 22 years old and am still wrinkle-free around my eye area. I was thinking of starting to apply anti-wrinkle eye cream, but according to my facialist, it's not a very good idea since I'll develop a resistance to anti-wrinkle creams. She then says that when i really do finally develop wrinkles, I won't be able to find a cream that works! Is this true and if so, what specific creams can I use at this point to put off wrinkles from forming as much as possible? My facialist suggested using eye gels, whatever they are. Thanks in advance!

- I don't think it's ever too early to use anti wrinkle cream and I've never heard that it's bad, but you can also use a wrinkle preventer estee lauder and avon has a good one .
- listen to what that person said. i mean, if you don't have any wrinkles .. why put some on? those stuff are for people who do have wrinkles. and whether you like it or not, you're going to have wrinkles there when you get much older. nothing will prevent that. haha.. watch.. using anti wrinkle creams now might end up speeding up the wrinkling process. or make you even super wrinkly when you're old. i don't know. but if you don't need it.. forget it. i really think if you put stuff on your face you don't really need when you're still young [too much make up, many different strong face cleansers/lotions], you'll look much older than you you are when you start aging.
- I am certified inskin care and I have never heard that before. They are called anti-aging for a reason, lol. But instead of using creams for now, I would suggest an anti-aging cleanser and moisturizer. Avon has a great set called Retroactive, it is actually designed for 20-30+ ages. The cleanser is a 2-n-1 cleanser plus toner. and you can also get the advanced all-n-1 max cream for your moisturizer and spf as well. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance. www.youravon.com/gganno
- I don't think you need that anti-wrinkle cream if you don't have wrinkles. But you're going to get wrinkled prematurely if you worry about these things too much. Relax . . .
- Your facialist is right. Eye creams cannot do what nature hasn't already done for you. IMO, eye creams are most effective in the winter season as they give protection from chapped skin. And that's about all they do. If you are out in sun and wind a lot during other seasons, they might help. They can "help" and not much more. They can't delay wrinkles, nor can they stop wrinkles. To have good skin, it has to be inherited from your parents. I use Aveeno eye serum; after it is applied, it forms an invisible film almost like plastic. I don't know if this is a gel or not, but I don't think it is actually a cream. All Aveeno products are good.
- You can NEVER develop RESISTANCE to eye creams. Only bacteria, viruses, and fungi can develop resistance to chemicals that are trying to interfere with their function. Your "facialist" is obviously not very familiar with science. It's never too early to start using eye creams. Prevention is key. It's like saying, you won't bother taking care of yourself until you like, say, catch a cold. Wouldn't it make sense for you to PREVENT a cold? Would you never moisturize your face again until you feel that it's incredibly tight? Would you never brush your teeth again until you get a cavity? Take care of your skin now before it's too late.
- Hmm!!..Thats like " wishing for a disease before you get it."..... if you don't have wrinkles then what's the point to use anti-wrinkle creams to worry about??
- Your facialist is full of sh*t, there's no such thing as "resistance". Just keep your eye area moisturized day and night with an SPF containing gel (not cream, which may contribute to puffiness, so she's only right about that). You just need to keep the area well lubricated and protected from UV rays, and that should keep wrinkles at bay. Sunglasses are important too!
- If you are looking for home remedy to reduce wrinkles, try this. Smear honey on your face and leave it for as long as possible (but 5-10mins a day will do). then rinse off with tepid water mixed with a teaspoon of cider vinegar - this has a neutral pH and will act as a toner. And if you have some bucks, Lifecell anti wrinkle cream would be a good choice. You can have more information here. http://www.lifecellskinreviews.com/
