- you just answered your own question =p
- Computers can run 24/7 without ever experiencing problems..for years on end. Servers across the globe run this way. Imagine if they had to be turned off and on constantly to keep running.. the kaos it would create. If your computer freezes for being on too long i suspect you have heating issues. Check your fans for dust. My computer has been on for a month now and running perfectly. I do memory dumps etc to avoid memory leaks. This happens because programs still uses a little ram after being shut down. Thats part of why a PC becomes slower over time when used and not rebooted. Re-booting is just an easy way clearing the catche
- no thats not the reason why its freezing...your ok just leave it on and never turn it off...it lasts longer
- There rely is no problem with leaving your computer on. It is nice to set standby mode on though to save energy. Other wise the only other likely problem is your screen is over heating. It all depends on how old your computer is. the newer models are generally made so you can leave them on 24/7 but problems can occur when you have less that 2GB on a drive so it is running all the time the computer is on, another is you don't have enough RAM while you have programs up while your computer is running. These are the most common problems but again it mostly depends on how old your computers are. Generally computers made before 2003 have problems with being left on.
- My computer is always on 24/7. It sounds like your internals are overheating, this is a classic symptom of an overheating graphics card. I f you know how to take your case apart, get a vacuum cleaner and pressurized canned air and give it a good clean. It is probably full of dust. Blow the dust off the fans and around the processor and graphics card. Make sure your computer is turned off and unplugged.
- This is what is probably happening. Your fan broke. Every day people come to yahoo answers saying MY COMP JUST TURNED OFF FOR NO REASON OMG WTF!!! the reason is that your processor is overheating and thats why its freezing.
- The cause is probally down to your CPU overheating.
