Chemical Peels for lines, scars etc...?

I am 27 years old and I feel that I am aging beyond my years. I have incredibly deep brow lines, laugh lines, and fine lines around my eyes. After having my son 4 years ago I went from having flawless skin to lines, bad back acne, large face pores and moderate acne and scarring on my face. I am wondering if a chemical peel will take care of not only the lines and scarring but the pores and if it can be applied to my back as well. I have used soooo many creams on my back they have bleached almost every shirt i own. Does anyone know of a safe and good at home peel? i have been looking at them online. There are so many different ones though.

  1. You and I both sweetie. I've been dealing with acne for nearly 14 years. My skin problems are mainly due to acne scars that look like enlarged pores. However being a former cosmetic surgical tech has taught me a few things. First off, botox will help prevent the lines from getting deeper. Second, get started on a skincare regimen that includes a vitamin c serum, sunscreen and retin a. (Talk to a dermatologist first because depending on your choice of acne topical the retin a may be too much). Chemical peels require quite a bit of maintenance afterwards as you can cause pigmentation problems by not protecting your skin from the sun. You also require downtime of at least 5 - 10 days depending on how strong of a peel you get. There afterwards you'd have redness for a little while too. The latest in skin lasers is the harmony pixel laser and this treatment deals with superficial acne scars and fine lines. This also requires a week off and several treatments.
  2. I would suggest glycolic acid peel. My better suggestion is to seek guidance from a dermatologist.
