Is face lotion and face cream the same thing?

when my face gets dry, which one do i use? face cream or face lotion or are they both the same?

1. Creme typically has a higher oil content and goes on thicker. Lotion should be lighter and less oily. You typically use a lotion for day and a creme at night. If your face is exceptionally dry, then use a creme for day and night wear. I'm guessing from your name and avatar that you're male - in which case I recommend a lotion after you shave, it's a little more gentle than an aftershave. I got my fiance the Nivea man face creme. It doesn't have a fragrance and it is really good for dry skin.
