  1. Pumpkin Peels rely on fruit acids or enzymes to exfoliate the skin. As an enzymatic exfoliant, it "eats" at dead cells and tissue while nourishing the healthy skin below. Pumpkin Peels, particularly, are rich in beta carotene, vitamins, co-enzymes and antioxidants. Papaya Peels work in exactly the same way and, IMHO do a better job than Pumpkin though it's just a matter of preference. You can find Pumpkin Peels here: http://www.anaturaldifference.com/pumpkpeel.htm http://www.looselipsny.com/Products_skincare.html Papaya Peel here: http://www.janmarini.com/SupplementalLine.html For acne in general, try the following regimen: Look for products such as Cetaphil and Purpose for cleansing and Moisturizing. Only add the other steps if you find products that work for you. Get super serious about your skin care regimen and be faithful about it's use. Try using a salicylic wash along with benzoyl peroxide. Comedones start forming often times months before we see the eruptions and by then it's too late, we're desitined to see some kind of scarring (small or large) and the damage is done. If you have small scarring or scabs that form over erupted lesions, make sure to protect yourself from the sun to avoid dark pigmentation spots such as a lightening agent. What does this mean? SUNSCREEN. Especially if you're using something to lighten spots that acne has left behind, you MUST use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or above. You might also try dotting any dark spots (scarring) with your lightening product. Put on as much moisture as you need to hydrate your skin as well. One of the most common mistakes acne sufferers make is not hydrating their skin enough. This signals the skin to make MORE oil. If the skin is not properly exfoliated which, for acne patients or those prone to blemishes should be done chemically, i.e. not with gritty polishes) the oil produced by the skin will form into blemishes. In short what this means is: -DO moisturize your skin -DO exfoliate but use a chemical product (salicylic acid wash is perfect for breakouts_ -DO cleans your skin twice a day but no more. Washing the face also washes away our natural oils and emollients signaling the skin to make yet more oil. -DO use a non-comedogenic moisturizer such as Cetaphil or Purpose and -DO wear a sunscreen. It will greatly reduce any marks that might result from a pimple or blemish. Following these few simple rules will not only help with your dryness but should help with any little blemishes and scars that might come up. Microdermabrasion is very helpful in clearing up acne scarring as is, chemical peels but be very careful in who you go to and how deep the peel is. As you have ethnic skin you may be prone to keloid so I would recommend lighter peels (enzymatic peels like papaya, pumpkin, etc. and glycolic not to exceed 40%, salicylic is always a good choice for acne). Often times peels and microdermabrasion are a great compliment for one another but only by a licensed and trained esthetician. If you have any questions you can drop me an email but find a sunscreen that you love and that works for you and that should help & get on board with skin care 2X daily. Good luck! LR
