chemical peels?

has anyone had one done? how much does it typically cost and how many treatments to clearer skin? any side effects?

1. ive had it done and let me tell you .. they really work! how many treatments depends on how bad your skin is.. it took me about 6 treatments to have clear skin.. it doesnt have any side effects , it just burns and your skin might turn red ( depending again, how sensitive your skin is) .. avoid the sun and use a hyrdator on your skin to keep it smooth. the cost is about $130 at a dermatologist office..research the price in your area .. it might be different.
2. I have done glycolic peel and that is very effective. The face clears instantly and you can really see the difference. But i guess you need to do it once every month or sthing ... This is not a cure for acne ..but ya the scars left behind will definitely fade away. But do make sure you do this in the presence of a dermatologist. I have taken like 7 treatments and each time i saw my face become clearer..but once you stop, for me atleast acne began to reappear.
3. A 30% glycolic peel is not that bad to do at home. You must be very careful to follow instructions that come with the glycolic peel-EXACTLY-I can't stress this enough. You are putting this on your face. As long as you are careful and follow directions you shouldn't have any problems giving yourself a regular 30% glycolic peel at home. You can get this strength online at www.theoriginalskinstore.com. It comes with the directions and how often to use it. Make sure you use a good sunscreen. It is around $25 for a bottle of it which will do 4-5 peels. It is a lot cheaper than your dermatologist which charges around $50-$60 for one 30% glycolic peel. I wouldn't do anything stronger than 30% at home though. It is great for your skin and makes it smooth. It is really good with acne when taken along with retin-A.
