Chemical Peels???
I'm in cosmotology in school, and I have to do research on chemical peels (the mildest form which is called Alpha hydroxy...something. lol) I have most of the information, but I don't have...: -what age do you have to be to get this chemical peel? -does it work with dry skin? THANK YOU IF YOU CAN ANSWER THOSE! =)

- AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) also known as glycolic acids are good for all skin types. They radically change the PH balance of the skin. Lactic acid is best though for dry skin. I wouldn't suggest anyone to get acid peels if they are under the age of 16 without Doctors supervision. Acne skin can use both AHA or Jessners peel. Jessners is a combination acid that is stronger than AHA. Sun block is essential while undergoing these procedures. The skin is fresh and burns very easily after acid treatments, also waxing should not be done in conjunction with these treatments. Hope this is useful
- New York Day Spa advise chemical peels are not limited to age groups and there are different degrees of chemical peels. If you have a client with lots of acne scars they can do a chemical peel in the doctor's office to diminish the scars, but will not remove them totally. Or they can use Alpha Hydroxy creams at a slower paste for results. We do not recommend chemical peels for dry skin because it thins out the first layer (epidermis) of the skin.
