bare nine foot walls.. need help up top?
I have a small (10'x10') bedroom with 9' foot walls, painted a yucky cream color. I can't paint them. The majority of things in the room are at eye level and below (for me... about 5 feet and below) but I have LOTS more space above on the walls that now feel bare, plain, and ugly... with one particular tall, empty corner where there isn't a window or door to break up the visual line. I'm seeking a CHEAP and FAST way to fix this design problem. HELP!

- A long, narrow poster placed above and centered over the other things on the wall or maybe a 5' long vine (Walmart about $5) hung up resting on nails. You could arrange the vine in a swag type look or abstract taking up quite a bit of wall space.
- Something that can help this alot is a fabric strung likea ribbon banner if that makes sense. Or a arched flower arrangement. Ill include some links below, but really you need to hit the thrift stores. The links good to do with several with increasing or decreasing hight.
- you have lots of choices in beautiful borders......they don't have to go t the top of the wall.....It comes in rolls of 15 feet per roll.........Look in a wall paper store and choose a beautiful one.go about 5-6 feet above the floor.........
- Use some posters, and pin them to the wall.
- Posters are tacky...use a nice mirror on the wall...you can pick one up at a yard sale or thrift store. Or use picture stagered on the wall....I had a room with vaulted ceilings...I hung a shelf about 7 foot up on the wall and displayed items...it looked great. Check out HGTV.com for ideas.
- Get a really big print of some kind--fabric or poster--and hang that thing right up! You could even hang some things from the ceiling, like a mosquito net over your bed. You could also hang some shelves--not that most people could reach them--but you could put some pretty glass vases up there (try antique stores--every single one I go in has brilliant red vases that would look sweet in a neutrally colored room). Good luck!
- Get two or three of those mirrors that you are supposed to put on you bedroom door. The full length body mirrors. Hang them horizontally instead of vertically one over the other. I think that would look cool. Even one might do it. You can get them at Wal-Mart or Target.
