Benoit had some sense to him.?
Report: Benoit's Son Had Fragile X Article By: Ryan Clark | Posted on: June 27, 2007, 12:12am Discuss This With Other Fans! [››] Canadian female Pam Winthrope told News 1130 in Canada that Chris Benoit's son had a genetic condition called Fragile X syndrome. According to WebMD, "Fragile X Syndrome is a defect of the X chromosome which causes mild mental retardation. The disorder occurs more frequently and severely among males than females. This condition is the leading known familial cause of mental retardation in the United States. Language delays, behavioral problems, autism or autistic-like behavior (including poor eye contact and hand-flapping), enlarged external genitalia (macroorchidism), large or prominent ears, hyperactivity, delayed motor development and/or poor sensory skills are among the wide range of symptoms associated with this disorder." Winthrope, whose son also suffers from the condition, told the Canadian news outlet that her husband reached out to Benoit five years ago in an attempt to increase awareness about Fragile X. She told News 1130, "We talked to him because I was trying to set up a support group in BC and in Canada, we only have a couple of them. My husband was struggling when we got diagnosed with our son, and Chris was struggling with his. They talked for a few minutes and then he said he didn't want to be a public face for Fragile X, he just wanted to keep it really, really quiet." Winthrope noted that the lack of support for those affected by the disorder can tear families apart. Nonetheless, "she couldn't believe the news that Benoit had taken his life along with his wife and 7-year-old son," wrote News 1130. This may explain why Daniel was taking growth hormone injections. It also may shed light onto why Chris didn't want someone else raising his son and made the fateful decision to kill him. As irrational and twisted as it may sound, he may have felt he was saving his son from the double-blow of losing his parents through a murder-suicide and being subject to being raised by people who didn't understand or care for his condition. At least what he did made some sense. http://www.prowrestlingfans.com/index.php?id=viewArticle&articleID=12196 I am in NO WAY WHAT SO EVER SAYING WHAT HE DID WAS RIGHT . IT WAS WRONG. I WAS JUST SAYING WHAT HE MAY HAVE BEEN THINKING WHEN HE DID WHAT HE DID!!!

- so we know where the boy got his retardation from-Benoit
- wow... that was very logical i can believe that :]
- HE DID NOT KILL THEM!!! HE WAS KILLED
- At least what he did made sense????? wheres the sense in killing in the first place?
- WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU TO EVEN THINK THAT KILLING SOMEONE ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN CHILD IS JUSTIFIABLE AND MAKES SENSE. YOU EITHER HAVE MENTAL PROBLEMS OF YOUR OWN OR ARE A NAIVE LIL' KID THAT IS A BENOIT FAN. MURDER NEVER MAKES SENSE, UNLESS IN SELF-DEFENSE.
- What he did does not make sense. How do you make sense of killing a child? Chris Benoit was probably taking steroids and perscription drugs that altered his ability to make any rash choices. He may have been ashamed, but killing his son so no one would raise him does not make sense.
- That is a good explanation but if its true then why did it never happen in the ring
- still does not justify murder.
- It is not okay, nor is it merciful to kill a child because he has a disease. This child's life had value, and that value was taken away by his own father. Nothing can justify that!
- "At least what he did made some sense." Are you friggin insane? There are vast number of parents that have children with crippling disorders that step of to the challenge and through unconditional love, raise their children and will take care of them through their entire life. Someone would have taken care of that child. That child killing piece of crap was even too cowardice to face his punishment for the crimes and took the easy way out. He should not be honored, pitied, or admired.
- Thank you for posting this. I disagree that now these murder-suicides make sense, because murdering anyone and then killing yourself is nothing but pure stupidity, and selfishness. But, This does shed some light on the subject and what you've posted is very interesting.
- So that makes it alright to do what he did?? B.S!!! The boy would have been taken care of in the end. I, along with countless others, could care less about what this a**wipe was feeling at that time. WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. His wife and child had NOTHING TO DO with what he was feeling. If he wanted to die...HE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN HIS OWN LIFE AND LEFT THEM ALONE!! But no, now this 7 yr oldwill NEVER get the same chance at life he had.
- Before it was announced that Benoit had killed his wife and son and then himself over a 3 day period at the official press conference, there was one thing I read that could explain Benoit's actions in a twisted way. PWTorch.com has learned that one major media entity has received an email purporting to be from a friend of the Chris Benoit extended family saying that Benoit accidentally killed his wife in a domestic argument, then panicked and killed his son later so his son could be with his mother rather than grow up without a mom and knowing his father as a murderer. I am not justifying Benoit's actions, but this may be a motive for killing his son, and the accidental death of his wife, because so far there is no motive
- what he did was wrong ANY way it goes!
- You're sick for defending this coward. Disability is not an excuse for murder.
