What is the best and safest appetite stimulant for a severely underweight toddler?

My three-year old daughter has always been underweight since birth and has been taking neosure and pediasure ever since. Now her endocrinolologist says if she doesn't gain enough weight and height by december she will be given weekly growth hormone injections for 6 to 8 months. Her bone development is also 11months delayed. What are my other options aside from painful and costly weekly growth hormone injections?

2. My two year old has been under-weight and height since birth also. We are small, our families are small and I know she eats and she is developmentally ahead of schedule. I did the blood tests the doctors pushed me to do and everything was normal. She drank pediasure for a year as much as she wanted and it didn't make much of a difference. I'm wondering if this doctor is giving you the right info. Is she really having health issues or is she just small? I would no matter what get a second opinnion and would never subject a three year old to growth hormone.

I'm sorry I don't have the answers to all your questions, but I did want to share what I did with ym son who is always on the very thin side, and when seriously ill and loses weight, is incredibly thin. What I did to increase his appetite and help him gain weight is this: I made him milkshakes daily with protein powder in it. Check how much you should give her and add it to whatever kind of shake she may like. This truly does work, and it did make my son's appetite increase., I wish you the best of success with your daughter..did they give you a reason why she is so underweight etc?
4. when done properly Growth hormone injections are not painfull. the needile used is tiny and very fine. My daughter has been on growt hormone injections since she was 4 yrs old (she's 10 now). she gets a shot every night and now does it herself......she is deficient in natural growth hormone and the little she does have her bones do not respond very well to,,,, my daughters expected final height would have been maybe just 4ft 4".. she's expected now to reach 4ft 10", still small but more in the normal range for a female........
