Do you know anyone that has had to have growth hormone injections for their children?
My daughter qualifies for growth hormone theraphy but it sounds so awful. I would love to know of someone that has had this done or has a child that has had it done. (I want to know everything I can to find out about it before we decide on a course of action.) She is very small and hasnt grown at all for 2 years. I adopted her and do not know family history. I do know that her mother was about 5'6" and her father about the same. This is a medical doctor talking to us about it.

- Yeah!!!My Best friend. He takes them and he's fine but he has medical problems. He was born with one lung and has scoliosis.
- I know a paernt whose child is receiving the hormone. First of all she has not had problems with the hormone. But I also saw a show about it, and it is very important that you get this done. Your child's life can be adversely affected if she is unusually small, as she may have trouble making friends and having a healthy social life. For girls it might not be so bad, but for boys it is an absolute MUST.
- I don't know, but I wouldn't do it. Sounds scary. Let her grow at her own pace, she'll catch up. My son is very small as well, he's 8 months old and everyone thinks he's 4 months old! I would just let nature take it's course. No telling what effects could happen with hormones, might cause major problems down the line.
