growth hormone shots?

can giving a child growth hormone shots cause blood clots in a childs brain? expesially if he didn't need them in the first place? he is my stepson, he is 6 yrs old, i tryed to get his mom to get another opinion but she didn't she let the doctor put him on them anyway, it is my opinion that he dosn't look like he has a growth problim I just want to know if it could cause bloot clots or sist of he really didn't need them.
