My baby is 6 months old and I think he has ringworm. Can I use otc athletes foot creme on his skin?
Public Comments
- No....you need to call your pediatrician. He should be seen to make what it is, then they will tell you what you can use. You cannot use most over the counter medications on 6 month olds.
- I don't really know about the foot creme but probably the best option is to take him to a good pediatrician.
- Ask a pediatrician. Lots of over the counter medicines should not be used on infants.
- Please take him to a doctor. Sometimes a person with ringworm needs an antibiotic.
- No, the best thing to do is take your baby to the doctor and get something that you know will really work. You don't want to mess the baby up any more.
- Ringworm is basically a fungus, the same as athlete's foot. The best thing to do is to call your doctor and get his advice. I don't know if the foot cream is too strong or will cause a problem with the skin on your baby. Make sure you DO NOT use any kind of steroidal cream, like hydrocortisone. Best of luck to you....Happy New Year!!!
