- Try the MD Forte line of hydrating creams. You can get a recommendation from a "skin consultant" where you purchase them or you CAN get them online. They are pricey but well worth it. I have very sensitive skin and usually moisturizers make me break out but this product is a godsend. Your oncologist should be able to recommend a dermatologist for you if you feel the need for advice from an MD. The skin consultant is usually a nurse that works in a dermatologist's office.
- I found that Aveeno was a good face/body cream to use for dryness. I also had radiation to my face so it was extra dry. Aveeno seemed to be very gentle on the face, as I have sensitive skin. I used this for a while after treatment. Now, I use Jergens Ultra Healing on my face and body.
- This might sound silly but water!!! It's the best moisturizer for your skin after and during chemo. The only other thing that helped was a vitamin called beta glugan 10mg 1 capsule twice daily, and co enzyme Q10 100-200 mg daily. This supplement is critical if you are taking chemotherapy.
- Aquaphor and Eucerin are excellent. Also, Camille Beckman sells a hand cream that can keep moisturizing through washings and comes in lots of beautiful scents. My favorite is rosewater and glycerin. Bless your heart --- feel better soon.
