I am looking to create an event/promo for mothers day in a high end retail store to boost sales.in creams.?
This is a high end product not in all retail stores. We sell anti age skin care and treatment and we cater to a more affluent clientelle. I need a 'gimmck' of sorts to attract business and I though Mother's Day with a lure for women to come on over to the counter knowing we are doing something special for the mother/woman. Ant ideas?

- You have to understand where's your target customers. I could think of 2 main groups. 1. Children getting for their mom. 2. Mothers themselves. You have to understand the psychology of these 2 groups of people. High end means big spender. Mother's day means you have no time to spare. They don't get stuffs the last minute. Gimmicks and not just gimmick. You need a road show, demonstration. Free try on the spot. If your product is good they will know and buy (To attract the mothers to pamper themselves) Push the product through promotion while stock last. You need to give freebies, you need to encourage grapevines and recommendations. Freebies or something great for bringing their friends to buy. You may make them a member, a card with stamps and bring a friend and u get more bonus stamps. Good and high-end products need a multi-gimmicks and promotion plans. All push out and by Christmas this year, you can expect a big bonus for the big jump in sales. My advices are simple and remember that your idea should always build on your targeted customers psychology and buying behaviour. Promotions and membership stuffs helps you to understand and collect information on your targeted market to enable you to survive, if not excel in this competitive market. Hope my advice is one the best advice to enlighten you some how.
