Growth Hormone injections? This isn't for me, i'm asking on behalf of someone else. He's 15, and he's been told by the doctors his bones are the form of a 17 year olds, though they say he does have a little more room to grow. He's around 5' and his height is causing depression, teasing, etc. So we've thought a lot about growth hormone injections. Would these work at 15? Even if he's bones are 2 years older than his real age, but still with a little room to grow? Just an inch or two would greatly help him. difficulty building muscle? all my life I have had difficulty developing muscle, I do have Growth Hormone Deficiency and Diabetes and had to rely on Growth Hormone injections from age 2 to 16 but now, i still have a lot of childish 'flab' so I look a lot younger than I really am, I'm 27, weigh 173 pounds and am 5'11". I try to exercise 3 days a week for about 45minutes each session yet areas such as my arms are still very skinny while my stomach appears distended. Excercises such as repeated weight training hasn't altered anything, after months of lifting, I haven't been able to increase the number or repetitions or amount of weight without overexertion. I've gone to doctors and have had no luck. My diet is decent and while it is not consistently healthy, I feel that I eat well enough to control my diabetes. advice on giving a child shots (growth hormone)? Any parents out there who have to administer shots on their young children? My daughter is being worked up for growth hormone (GH) deficiency. Her blood work has come back abnormal and she essentially hasn't grown or has grown very little in the last year and a half. We'll see the doctor again in a few months and probably have to face the decision of whether or not to give her GH. GH can only be administered through an injection given at least 3-5 times per week. That means my husband and I would have to give them. She is only 4 and is scared to death of shots when we go to the doctor's office. Are being on several meds at once bad for children? I have a 4 year old son with several health issues. He sees a phyciatrist, endocrinologist, and a neurologist aside from his regular pediatrician. We adopted my baby when he was only 4 months old and we were never able to get the full history as to what his bio mom did when she was carrying him in her womb (drugs,alcohal,etc.). My concern is that he is on growth hormone injections, two different type of seizure medications and focalin for ADHD. Wont this really effect him in the long run? His pedi says that children can tolerate more than adults but I am very skeptical about that. Am I wrong to be so concerned? He is my heart and my husband,daughters, and I would just die if something were to happen to him.
