Acid Peels Knowledge Base
Acid Peels? Around graduation my skin went hay wire! I guess it was the stress! Lol I've never had skin problems. Yet after that bout of pizza-face syndrome I was left with some really bad acne scars and blemishes. I'll be off for college soon and I really wanna clear out my skin! What should I do & does anyone have any experince with acid peels? I've actually already used an at-home microdermabrasion kit a few weeks ago. It helped a little, but nothing signifacant!
Are Glycolic Acid peels bad for people with sensitive skin? I am 21 years of age and still suffer from acne. I suffer from nodules and pustule acne. I have been reading stories about people buying Glycolic Acid peels for acne. I have sensitive skin and was wondering if the peel would be too harsh for me to use. And does anyone know of any good websites that sell affordable glycolic peels?
Has anyone tried using TCA acid peels for removing tattoos? Im currently researching removal methods, and have found a couple of listings on e-bay selling at-home kits of varying strength TCA's, the same as used by cosmetic surgeons for facial rejuvenation peels, to remove tattoos with a number of treatments. I've traced the US salon using the products, and they seem legit: street address, phone # etc. Just wondering if anyone has taken the plunge and tried this method??
Where can I buy glycolic acid peels? As in what store can I buy one? About what percentage is good for some pretty harsh hyper pigmentation? Any personal experiences? What should i expect? and any additional information.
Can 20% salicylic acid peels cause keloids? I used L'oreal's Renoviste (10% glycolic acid) before for acne scars and it was okay but I do tend to get keloids (ear lobes and chest) so I was a little worried about getting them all over my face! What about using the peel for the back? I read somewhere that the upper back and shoulders are prone to keloids?
Glycolic acid peels every night? What would happen if you did a glycolic acid peel (35%) every night? Would it damage your skin or help it? On the bottle it says don't use more than 2 times a week, but just wondering.
Different products for at home glycolic acid peels? I have slight acne scarring and wanted to try our an at home glycolic peel. I want a reliable product, I dont care if its a little pricey. One that I have seen is the Estee Lauder Perfectionist Peel 2-Step Enzyme Activating Treatment, but I dont know if that would help reduce light acne scars that can be hidden for the most part with makeup(new scars). Help, thanks ! :D
I have Glyocloric acid peels Once a week 20% To 50%? The fruit acid is this too much? If so what are the lond term affects of regular use and also what is the right about to use. Also are there any other acid peels you no of that are good appart from Glycloric acid? sowy about spelling rushed typing affect.
Where to get Glycolic Acid peels? I have some acne scars and uneven skin tone and someone suggest I get a glycolic acid peel. Are there any good over the counter ones for acne-prone skin or where could I get one done at, and what is an estimate of the cost? -Thanks :)
What are the effects of having a Glycolic Acid peel? I'm getting a series of Glycolic acid peels soon, and I was wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with this? Were there a lot of side effects after the peel? I don't want it to destroy my faaace!
Is my skin permanently damaged from this acid peel? I have been going to the same esthetician for years and she recently switched from microdermabrasion (which I've had no trouble with and totally love the results) to acid peels of varying degrees. She scheduled two four weeks apart and I'm wondering if my skin is permanently damaged. My cheeks are red, my jawline and parts of my face are constantly dry, and my skin just doesn't look the same. The dermatologist gave me a hydrocortisone solution but it works temporarily. What should I do? The facial lady doesn't seem so sympathetic!
Glycolic Acid Peels? Does anyone know what stores sell glycolic acid peels rather than buy them online?
Anyone have experience with glycolic or lactic acid peels for hyperpigmented acne scars on your back or chest? I've already had one peel on my back for my hyperpigmented superficial acne scars, and I'm getting my second one this Saturday. I think she did a glycolic/lactic acid peel, and there was definitely some sloughing of skin after the first 36-48 hours. It didn't peel a whole lot, but she said this time she would do a more intense peel since I reacted so well. Only thing is, prom is the Saturday AFTER my peel, and my dress is strapless, so I don't want to have a whole bunch of gross peeling on prom. The peeling the first time only lasted about 2 days but she said that next time I get a peel it'll work better and be more aggressive. Can you please share your experiences of your chemical peels in the past, how many you had to have to fade your scars, and how much it peeled the second or third peel you received?
Salicylic acid peels? Would a 20% Salicylic Acid peel be too much for a first time user? Also how does the skin normally react to a peel. Does it peel where it becomes noticeable? Would I still be able to go to work after doing this?
Does anyone know anything about glycolic acid peels? I have started a course of 6 glycolic acid face peels (have had 2 so far). I have them done by a nurse. The first was 10% strength for about 10 minutes and the second 20% but for just 4 minutes. What I'd like to know is what kind of results I might get at the end of the course ( I know this varies) - has anyone had a course of these and were you happy with the results? I'm having the treatments as I have mild acne - I tend to get only a few red spots at any one time - my major problem though is blocked pores - I have these all over my face. My skin is smooth but the pigmentation is slightly uneven due to past blemishes. also, my skin is worse today than it has been for a while - would you expect it to get slightly worse initially, with this type of treatment? Hope someone can help - thankyou :)
Question about gylcolic acid peels?..? I have just done an gylcolic acid peel yesterday and my skin appears to looks worse. It seems that all my imperfections have gotten more noticeable and they stand out a bit more than before, even though i have noticed my pores shrinking and erasing and my pimples drying out. I was wondering if this was normal, and has anyone tried it if so what were your results? any success stories?
Nothing happened post glycolic acid peel? I ordered a 50% glycolic acid peel online with a pH of 2.0 and have used it twice so far. I felt the burning both times. Both times there was minimal redness initially which went away immediately. There was and has been no flaking or peeling. I did notice that my skin felt very hard and dry right before I used it the 2nd time. But it is not what I expected. Will it get better with repeated use?
How often should I use a 25% Glycolic Acid peel? I have always had slightly oily skin but this winter for some reason it is incredibly dry and flaky and I am even getting pimples for the first time! I have a wedding coming up in less than 3 weeks and want to look my best. How do I go about this? (I started using all natural products about 2 months ago, so that may contribute). Is an acid peel a good idea or not?
Where can I buy a lactic acid peel? I would like to buy a lactic acid peel between 40% and 55% with a money order. Does anyone know of a website where I could buy one with a money order? Thanks!
When do chemical peels start to work? I have really bad Keratosis pilaris all over my arms and forearms and i started using a chemical peel on friday, but my arms have not started to peel yet. When do my arms start to peel and how long after the acid peel does it start to work? I used another peel on my arms yesterday, so i am still waiting for it to work. Oh and its a 20% salicylic acid peel. what can i use then that is stronger?

Can you recommend me a good EXfoliatoR - acid peel or scrubs? I am using a glycolic face wash both in the morning an before bed every night. I have tried using microdermabrasion exfoliating scrubs once a week but they just give me pimples. Should I try a weekly peel like glycolic acid at-home peel or use a gentle exfoliating scrub??

Hi! I have pitted scars adn I wanna have some glycolic acid peels, can you recommend me a place to do that? I am trying to find a cheaper place.. until now 50$/ session is the cheapest but considering the fact that I need about 6 sessions I would like to find something cheaper but that is still safe.. can you give me any ideas please? Thank you so much! Thank you strawberry, I wanna do that (go to a dermatologist/spa) but I want a recommendation about a lower price as money is the issue... Hi Raymond and thank you for your answer! My scars are like little holes, people usually mistake them for very large pores (actually I also have huge pores..) and the ones that bother me the most are on my cheeks. I think they are called pitted scars :). Then, I have used vinegar but tell me again what is the exact name of the one you used, maybe I didn't try the best one. I am already using retin-a but because of my other skin condition (seborrheic dermatitis) I cannot apply it on my cheeks where most of the problems are.. I already had a chemical peeling and my skin improved so so much after this one but the effects lasted 6-7 months then the skin went back to it's problems, maybe because I have very active sebaceous glands => dilated pores, bad skin..
What is a good Lactic Acid Chemical Peel for home use? Okay, I would like to try a low-grade lactic acid chemical peel. The salon charges $85 dollars for it but I hear you can buy this stuff online for a fraction of the cost.... what site is a good one that sells good products? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Is safe to do your own chemical peels at home? I pay a ton of money to get the skin medica peel done every 6 weeks. It is a very mild peel with great results. I have been looking on the internet and found many home kits for Glycolic acid, TCA, and Salicylic peels. With proper instruction can I do them at home? I would be conservative. If anyone knows the answer maybe you can also recommend a brand. Thanks.
Can black women recieve TCA peels? I have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne scars on my face and body. I'm light-skinned and I want to remove them, however, my attempts with Glycolic Acid peels and microderm have been unsuccessful. Can I use TCA peels on my skin or will it cause more scarring. I'm looking for reponses from dermatologist or plastic surgeons.
how much does an acid peel cost? i have had bad skin for years now and its left me with marks all over my face, i want to have an acid peel but don't kknow much about it, how much does it cost, how effective is it and are you asleep when they do it, if anyone has any links or had the treatment done that would be great. i live in the u.k (lancashire), or is there any other kind of surgery out there that will make my skin look better, i wear make up every day as i can't face people seeing my skin.
How old do you have to be to get an acid peel? Its just that, this summer i might go to Singapore to visit family, and in Singapore things are ALOT cheaper tha things here in Italy or in the States, so i was just wondering if there was an age thing, so i can start saving up my money now!HAHAHA They cost like around 300 to 500 dollars...isnt that right, like a "normal" one... THANX!!! P.S. or like a chemical peel... Like ive heard that the home ones, burn ur face off, so im kinda scared to do it at home!HAHAHA but mabye ill have to if it really does cost like 850dollars...i just looked it up!AHHhhhh!HAHAHa
I got a salicylic acid peel and my face looks terrible? My face peeled. Which was fine and normal. But now my pores looks so much larger.. My skin looks older. I'm 22. I had it done professionaly. She gave me the peel then she pushed out blackhead and stuff. Did she mess me up? What could have happened?
Skin Peels (DCL Glycolic acid)? I have some acne scarring and my clinician has advised a course of Glyclic Acid treatment. My skin is also congested and ageing. Has anyone tried it and would you recmmend it, as I don't want to end up with more scarring etc. Also, if you can recommend a clinic in Birmingham, UK or, in London.
Professional glycolic acid peel--at home? I recently found out that professional-grade (or so it says) acid peels are available for home use, and after ready many, many reviews of people doing it on their own, I've decided that I'd like to try it for myself (since professional peels just aren't practical for my college student lifestyle). Are there any skincare professionals or people who have used home peels such as http://www.amazon.com/Glycolic-Acid-Peel-100ml-Professional/dp/B000PR4F9K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1201193921&sr=8-2 who can tell me how to go about it, and any other product I might need? I've heard a few things about neutralizing the skin afterwards--some people say to do it with water, and some say that you need to buy an actual neutralizer. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?
Acid Peel or Self Heal Peel? Can a healthy diet and increased water intake replace the need for skin resurfacing/acid peel? Could this positive change to the skin reverse or shed the faces outer appearance? I haven't found an answer so far.
ACID/CHEMICAL PEEL?? HOW MUCH AND WHEREe?? So, i have slight acne, and i was wonder how much a chemical/acid peel costs. also what is the difference between chemical and acid.. aslo, is there one i can do at home..?? Thank you.. Ps i live in the uk..
How Long Does GLYCOLIC ACID PEEL TAKE TO PEEL OFF SKIN? HI HOW LONG DOES GLYOLIC ACID PEEL TAKE TO PEEL OFF SKIN? I HAVE USED IT 2 SATURDAYS IN A ROW AND SEE NO CHANGE OR PEELING SKIN HI THE ACID I USE IS A SOLUTION AND ITS 70% I WAS TOLD TO USE IT ONCE A WEEK FOR 7 WEEKS BUT I DONT SEE ANY CHANGES AND ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS, SHOULD I USE IT MORE.
Acne glycolic acid peel? I have moderately bad acne. It's a lot better than it used to be, but it's still there. My mom the other day (I'm a16 year old male btw) was talking to a friend of hers who works at a salon that does facials and all those kind of things. and my mom told her about my acne problem, the lady said she could do a "glycolic acid peel" that would remove most acne and most acne scars. and mostly the only thing wrong with my face now is the scarring from previous acne, so this sounded like a darn good idea to me. I did a little research on the topic and well it said that the only downside to the facial peel is the fact that it can leave redness of the skin for a few days afterwords. Well I'm thinking about getting this done on Saturday, and Sunday is me and my girlfriend's 1 month anniversary (haha) and she is leaving for Jersey for 3 weeks after Sunday... and of course I want to look my best... if I get this treatment done on Saturday will my face look like utter crap the next day??
Microderm, acid peel, for acne marks? Around my mouth, I have all of these red marks from old zits and the such, and alot of redness as my face is very sensitive. Should I get an acid peel, or microderm kit to get rid of the discoloration? If so, what kind? Also, I need something under $40 that I can get easily, that won't hurt my already sensitive, acne prone, and allergic-to-benzoyl-peroxide, skin.. (a natural or over the counter solution to getting rid of the "ghost zits" (the red or dark purple marks after a zit) instead would be very lovely as well..) Oh and if this matters, just ignore my black avatar. This is my friends account =)
help for glycolic acid peel? i want to make glycolic acid peel can any one help which other things have to mix with glycolic acid to make it quick dry when it put on face?i will be thanksfull.
microdermabrasion or acid peel? I have kind of red blotchy skin. Some of which is old acne scars although not the deep pock type ones, just red spots where acne had once been. What is the best way to even my skin tone and get rid of some of these scars? Which is better microdermabrasion or an acid peel? or something different? How much does the laser resurfacing cost(approximately)? Also the other procedures if anyone has had them.
DIY Facial Peels? This is my second time asking this question, hoping someone can help me out! I found out that professional peels such as http://www.amazon.com/Glycolic-Acid-Peel-100ml-Professional/dp/B000PR4F9K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1201193921&sr=8-2 are now available for in-home use, but some of the testimonials mention something about neutralizing the skin afterwards. Some say they did it with water, and others did it with a neutralizing product. Does anyone know which is better, or if they each can work?
Microdermabrasion v Peels? What is the most effective for getting rid of very fine lines: microdermabrasion or glycolic acid peels? Has anyone had them? Did you see a difference?
General questions about Glycolic acid facial peel at home.? I'm planning to buy the glycolic acid to do the chemical peel at home. I'm planning to buy the 70% glycolic acid, and dilute it myself. 1. Do I just dilute it with water? 2. Can I dilute more at once and store it in the bottle for later use or should I dilute only one time use? 3. Does the regular plastic travel size cosmetic container good for storing glycolic acid? Or, should I use the glass instead? 4. I'm planning to buy the syringes for more precise dilute measurement. The syringes are plastic material with the rubber stopper insider, is it safe? Would the glycolic acid melt it? I have acne prone combination skin. T-zone are oily in summer, and starting to have acne on my cheek. I really don't want my face to peel, I don't mind to do the peel gradually, or a mini mask type of thing everyday. 1. What percentage should I use to start with? 2. Anyone done any body peel? What percentage do you use? 3. how do you make the neutralizer with baking soda?
Permanent skin damage from TCA acid to remove a tattoo? I used 50% diluted TCA acid on my tattoo 2 months ago and my skin is still pinkish red and prone to tears. I put the acid on my skin for about 5-6 minutes. At this point (2 months later) my skin has still not fully healed. I have discoloration (some spots where my skin has been lightned and others where my skin is darker than the rest of the skin around my tattoo. I am worried that I will have permanent skin damage. I usually heal up in about 9-12 days. This acid peel that I did myself has taken 2 months and counting and the redness seem to still be there. I don't know what to do.
Anyone ever had an AHA peel? Alphahydroxy Acid Peel.? If anyone has ever had an AHA peel I want to know if it's worth it. Does it hurt at all? Does it smoothen the skin? How long does it last and of course... how long does it take to recover? Did you have any bad side effects? Does it make the skin tone lighter? Is it expensive? Is it worth it? I'm really scared about going through with it, but I want to know what you guys thought. Thanks.
