Anyone have experience with glycolic or lactic acid peels for hyperpigmented acne scars on your back or chest? I've already had one peel on my back for my hyperpigmented superficial acne scars, and I'm getting my second one this Saturday. I think she did a glycolic/lactic acid peel, and there was definitely some sloughing of skin after the first 36-48 hours. It didn't peel a whole lot, but she said this time she would do a more intense peel since I reacted so well. Only thing is, prom is the Saturday AFTER my peel, and my dress is strapless, so I don't want to have a whole bunch of gross peeling on prom. The peeling the first time only lasted about 2 days but she said that next time I get a peel it'll work better and be more aggressive. Can you please share your experiences of your chemical peels in the past, how many you had to have to fade your scars, and how much it peeled the second or third peel you received?

Does salicylic acid and lactic acid make a good combination for acne? i'v been using proactive it worked for the first time, then i stroped, when i got acne again (it got really severe) it didnt work for me the second time. I am still currently using proactive, but i still get bumps all the time. I just use it at night though. I'm thingking of buying salicylic acid 20% gel peel and lactic acid so it will moisturizes and clear my acne post marks and scars. so i was wondering if you guys would reccomend that or wouldn't, thx i woulda prreciate for all your help. the salicylic acid 20% is a peel, so i wont use it regurlaly. Same with the lactic acid, I'll just alternate by week. That's what the ebay person told me, I checked all the feedbacks and it seems legit 100%, plus nice and friendly customer service. I might give it a try, but what do you guys think?

Question about chemical peels (or Alpha Hydroxy peels) and acne? I just started using Alpha Hydroxy lotion (12% lactic acid) and so far it has caused a pretty bad breakout. Is this just from the acid extracting the toxins from my skin? Also, after the breakouts go away does this keep them away? I dont want this breakout thing to be a cycle from the lotion. Thanks

how do you do a salysilic latic peel? I have salysilic lactic acid because I am an esthetician and I have never done one, I did not take classes that far, but should I neutraize it with bakingsoda/powder after I put it on. skin reaction after microderm facial - help!!!? i got a microderm facial two days ago, and the next morning woke up with itching around my mouth and nose and a slight rash, not exactly a rash but redness thats slightly itchy. i had bought a couple of products from my facialist one of which was a toner containing lactic acid - which i used the night of the facial and woke up with this rash and skin peeling the next morning. i called my facialist who said i should stop using the toner fr a few days and let the skin settle down before i move onto the new products. meanwhile what can i do to reduce the itchy peeling? its not severe, but uncomfortable :(

At home chemical peel? I am a 38 year old female, Asian, with medium dark skin.? I have pitted depressions from acne & also want to lighten my skin color. I was advised by a kohls rep. to use their "good skin" peel pads, which have 10% citric acid. By browsing I found a site, makeup artists choice, which sells proff. strength peels ( 40% lactic acid or 30% glycolic). I dont want to get TCA, which seems to be very strong. I have used olay, loreal, several drug store peels which do nothing, except freshening up a bit. I also got 2 proff. peels done , which I think were mild, b/c they caused very little peeling not visible to others but they did change my skin for a couple of months, but they were very expensive. I am looking for similar results, which I think can be got by peels from that site( makeup artist). I have read rave reviews aboutmakeup artist and also about the "good skin" peel pads. how much glycolic acid should i use? i just turned 18 early december. i have been haing skin problems since i was 12. i first developed spots of my skin peeling and my doctor told me it was just a phase i'll grow out of it. then i started gettin bumps around my t-zone area badly. i would pick at them of couse because they were nerve wrecking. and then i started getting bumps on my back. and back to my face i started to discovered little hairs that would grow one by one along my jaw area, very thin. and i plucked them they would return for about 6-7weeks. now along my stomach area i grow hair and shave but bumps and dark spots appear as well as my bikini area. then i discovered keratosis pilaris because of pictures and discriptions matching with the hair all over my legs. and NO female should look like this!! i've tried proactive, acnefree, dr. miracles. drying lotions neutrogena, all that stuff and now i think the best thing is glycolic + lactic acid and lotions as well as soaps that exfoliate my skin. i am african american and, as you should know now i have dealt with the embarrassment the frustration n this condition for a while now. my question is how much GA should i use. i can take the pain from burning. i want this stuff gone and continue to fight this skin condition. nothing too expensive. if you could help me..i couldnt be anymore thankful

How to get rid of this hyper pigmentation? Ok Im in my early twenties now. Ive had this hyper pigmentation since middle school in my breast cleavage area,about a year ago I got a breast reduction so that helped delete the cause.
