Whats the way to use TCA peels for acne scaring? Just some quick background. I've been on Doxycycline for about 2 months now and my acne is getting better. Its no longer pimples anymore as much as it is red marks on my cheeks from when I was insecure in highschool and popped em. I'm also using an Atralin gel(tretinoin) on my face at night. How do i know if the 8% TCA chemical peel is working? I did a patch test with 8% TCA peel and nothing has happened, yet. I do not think this is normal. The instructions say it is supposed to frost, yet, my skin is normal. I can scratch where i did the patch test and there is no pain or irretation.

TCA skin peel? I applied the tca peel on my arms about 5 days ago, its started started peeling, less then half of my skin is already peeled. My skin is horrible, its all pink. Should I do the at home TCA Chemical Peel I bought from online? I bought 2 from online: one from Makeup Artists Choice, Inc. and one from perfectComplexion.net. I want to use one tonight but I'm scared!! Can these be made of different chemicals than what my dermatologist used? I've had them done twice at dermatologists, both with great results, but can't afford their $600 price tag (especially for 2 minutes work!) All they do is dip a Q-tip in the acid, rub in on my face for about a minute until my skin "froths" (turns white), then I rinse off with cold water in the sink and it's all over. It begins to peel a few days later and within a week I have beautiful perfect skin. Why should I pay a doctor $600 for less than 2 minute's work with a Q-tip? Does anyone see anything wrong with me doing this myself at home? It's pretty basic... guess my main concern is are these TCA acid solutions from online the same as the dermo uses? I bought one that says it's 24% and one that's 21% acid. In the doctor's office I use 30%. Ther dermatologist I went to last time actually messed up a bit. You're not supposed to put the acid around the nostrils but she didn't know that and that skin was red and in pain for several weeks (in the dip where the nostril comes out). So please don't tell me I should use the dermatologist because they're experts, because on my directions from my online peel it states "Never put solution around nostrils!"
30% tca peel I am fair skinned and I did a 30% tca peel on my face last night.? I tested an area.....and did 2 layers, it frosted and looked ok...so I went ahead. I woke up this morning and one side of my face where I applied it 2x where I had bad age spots, age 46, and it is a puple color.......I am hoping to god that this is not a scar.....I have had a peel under the eyes before and it is red and then flakes off. This is a purple color???? It does not hurt or anything.....so I'm hoping it will fall off or heal..How will I know thanks. Dianne

It swells up oozes and all of the skin scabs up and falls off to reveal a beautiful glowing new layer of skin. Sounds crazy right? They are 1700 dollars and they are done every day for aging. I have scars from an accident. I am scared, but who does not want to look better, especially when it is already paid for . They give the face a "controlled" 2nd degree burn. chemical peels? I have very fair skin and have age spots, and hyperpigmentation. I have been using Platnium Skin Cares 60% glycolic peel for over a year. The results are good, but I have to use it twice a week. Anyone with info on glycolic or tca combo peels please let me know. Remember I am super fair (blonde) so I don't worry about getting too white. I have not ordered the tca combo because tca seems to be for ache scars which I dont have. I have never had achne. I am 46 so I have mature skin. What about hydroquinone 4%, I've heard that some people use that. 4% is prescription strength. 2% does not work for me. Thanks Dianne
